An air humidifier is a household device that increases the level of humidity to decrease the health problem, and improves air circulation as well. Sometimes, hot air is responsible for causing mold and mild dew that have bad impact on health.

Maintaining dry air is not a healthier option always, as extremely dry air can also be unhealthy at times. Most body skin, which is exposed to dry air may cracks frequently. The air humidifiers are mostly used in factories.
History of Air Humidifiers
For the first time John Elliott MBE DL a UK scientist introduced Air Humidifiers in 1980.
Types of Air Humidifiers
Generally, air dehumidifiers are developed in three types;
• chemical absorbent air humidifiers,
• air humidifying ventilators, and
• heat pump air humidifiers.
The air humidifying ventilator is designed with a sensor controller and an exhaust fan. The sensor controller activates the unit whenever dry air in room reaches a predetermined level. The effect of these ventilators is not noticeable during hot summer, because they suck outside air into the room; mostly, these humidifiers are useful in basements.

In heavy sunny days, chemical absorbent humidifiers work superbly. They use a chemical drying desiccant, or agent for sucking water molecules from air. By using this appliance, hot air transverses to outer region through vents. Desiccant humidifiers use very high energy, and they are used in factories, and commercial sites rather than houses.
Heat pump humidifiers extract water particles from air by using a heat pump, which is similar to an air conditioner pump. In comparison to other humidifiers, the effectiveness of these humidifiers is quite high.
Applications of Air Humidifiers
By using Air Humidifiers, the following tasks can be performed.
• Skin cracking,
• Condensation gaining,
• Additional Moisture regain,
• Product drying, and
• Corrosion prevention
How to Work with an Air Humidifier
Before utilizing the air humidifier, select a particular location for humidifier by vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning. To work with this appliance, you need to follow these steps:
• Connect the appliance to feel the effect
• Adjust the humidifier to either maximum or minimum by adjusting a knob designed on the device.
• Use the humidifier many times to get the dry air out of the room.
• Adjust the knob, whenever the humidity of the room comes to a comfortable level.
• Keep the adjustable knob in that position for effective humidification.

How Do Air Humidifiers Work?
As mentioned earlier, the working of air humidifier is similar to an air conditioning system. However, apart from humidifying the room, this device freshens up the air and purifies it as well.
It takes the air from the room, purifies it, and releases it back to the room. To feel the effect, it is necessary to close the room perfectly; make sure that no vents exist, as they will reduce the effectiveness of the device.
The air humidifier is very useful in small offices and homes. Some heavy duty air humidifiers are also available for industrial purposes. The air humidifier checks the level of moisture in room, and whenever the level decreases, it starts working automatically, and then goes to the auto cut-off zone when the desired level is attained.
